Casa de las Ratas Week 67

up to May 10, 2003

My medicine cabinet is coming along. I got all my dado cuts to fit and will do a final sanding of the parts and then glue it up.

One of the window sills in the living room got busted off and lost when we were tearing things apart. Manny and I made a new one using the table saw.

Here it is primed and painted.

You can see we had to make all kinds of weird cuts.

Ricardo finished cleaning up the old hall closet. This is the only remaining original lath and plaster in the house.

He spackled and painted the walls.

Ricardo sanded and stained and polyeurethaned the original wood floor in the hall closet.

Window painting continued...

You can also see the hole in the wall where my big medicine cabinet will go.

Manny and Martin do a test fit for the window casing in the living room.

 First bedroom's rough fit casing.

 Bedroom 2's closet gets done!

This is the look of the finished window casing with the angle surround mitered frame.

Looking nice!

Manny and I continue to fix the other closet window in bedroom #2. This window won't have an interior sill. We had to cut off a bit of the main sill so it would be flush with the wall. We need to add 1 x 3 to provide for window stop around the windows so you won't be able to see daylight through the sides...
