My father, Albert J. Dauray, owned Ampeg in the late 1960's. Growing up hearing all those rock and roll war stories definitely inspired me to get into the music biz.

To the left is pictured a paperweight he gave me from his collection.

Some AMPEG crew ca. 1968:

Pictured left to right:
Gene Dudowski, an accordion player from Chicago and a member of the Ampeg  sales team.

Roger Cox, who worked at Fender for many years and got me the job at VTL when I first arrived in California in 1989.

Roy Wiggins, steel guitar player and
Ampeg's vice president in Nashville. Roy passed away in 1999.

Here's a little collection of Ampeg and Grammer memorabilia Dad gave to me.
The desktop pen holder thing above has this engraved plaque on it.

And here is a key to the city of Nashville that Mayor Beverly Briley gave to him.

This is Big Al in his Bowater days, probably taken in the late 1950's?

When I met Les Paul a few years ago at the TEC Awards, I asked him if he knew my Dad. "Why yes, of course!" Les replied, "He bought  Ampeg from Everett Hull in my living room!"

I love ol' Les. He is priceless.
